About
A consultancy, built to be boring in the right places
Steel Bridge Solutions is a UK company that designs, builds and supports automation for operating companies across the United Kingdom and Europe. The technology we use is current; the way we run projects deliberately isn't. Written scope, tested delivery, clean handover.
What we do
We work with companies that have outgrown their manual processes but haven't outgrown their software. The pattern is familiar: the business runs on a handful of systems that don't talk to each other, and the gaps between them are filled by people copying information from one screen to another.
Our work is to close those gaps — with a voice agent that answers the calls nobody gets to, a website that works as hard as the business behind it and takes payments the way UK rules require, or simply a team trained to use these tools properly on their own work.
We deliver this as defined projects with a fixed scope and a fixed price, not as an open-ended retainer.
How we think about AI
AI is a component, not a strategy. It is very good at reading unstructured input, holding a natural conversation, and classifying things that are hard to express as rules. It is not good at being trusted without oversight in processes where mistakes are expensive.
So we use it where it earns its place, we build human approval into anything that touches money or commitments, and we design explicit behaviour for the cases where a model should stop and hand over. Where a plain rules-based automation is more reliable, we use that instead and charge you less.
Principles
Four commitments we hold ourselves to
Scope before build
Every engagement is preceded by a written statement of work covering deliverables, exclusions, acceptance criteria, timeline and price. If we can't describe it precisely enough to price it, we aren't ready to build it.
Honest recommendations
We sell the assessment separately from the build so the recommendation isn't shaped by what we'd like to sell next. If an off-the-shelf product or a process change solves your problem more cheaply, we'll tell you.
No lock-in
The full source code, documentation, credentials and administrative access are handed over on completion, and the intellectual property is assigned to you. Third-party services are configured under your own accounts wherever possible, so ending our engagement doesn't end your system. The only recurring charge we offer is the optional voice agent maintenance plan — everything else is project work with a defined end.
Claims we can support
We don't publish performance figures we can't evidence, testimonials we haven't been given, or client logos we don't have permission to use. Nothing on this site is placeholder social proof.
What we don't take on
- Projects where the underlying process isn't agreed internally — automation makes an unresolved disagreement faster, not better
- Fully autonomous handling of decisions with financial, legal or clinical consequences
- Systems designed to disguise automated contact as a human, or to contact people who haven't consented
- Work that would require us to claim compliance certifications we don't hold
- Engagements priced before the scope is understood
On case studies
We don't publish invented case studies, and we won't publish real ones without written client permission and figures we can stand behind.
As engagements complete and clients agree to be referenced, verified case studies will be published here with the client named and the scope described accurately.
