1. Our commitment

We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, speech input or a browser with custom text and colour settings.

We would rather describe our position accurately than claim a level of conformance we have not verified, so this page includes what has not been done as well as what has.

2. Standard applied

The site has been built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the target. We aim to meet that standard but have not commissioned an independent audit, so we describe this site as partially conformant: most of the standard is met, and the exceptions we are aware of are listed below.

3. What has been done

• Semantic structure. Landmarks, a single main heading per page and a logical heading order, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
• Keyboard access. Every interactive element — navigation, menu toggle, links — is reachable and operable with the keyboard alone, in a sensible order.
• Visible focus. A clear focus outline is shown on every focusable element and is not removed.
• Skip link. A "skip to main content" link is the first item on every page.
• Colour contrast. Body and heading text is intended to meet at least 4.5:1 against its background, and interface elements at least 3:1.
• Text resizing. Typography and layout use relative units, so the site remains usable at 200% zoom and with browser font-size overrides.
• Reduced motion. Scroll animations and smooth scrolling are disabled automatically when your system requests reduced motion.
• Non-decorative images. Meaningful graphics carry text alternatives; purely decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced.
• State communicated in code. The mobile menu exposes its open or closed state programmatically, not only visually.
• Works without JavaScript. All content is readable and all pages reachable with JavaScript disabled; scripting only enhances behaviour.
• Responsive layout. Content reflows to a single column on small screens without horizontal scrolling; wide tables scroll within their own container.

4. Known limitations

• No independent audit. Conformance has not been verified by a third-party accessibility specialist.
• No assistive technology user testing. The site has not yet been tested with people who use screen readers daily. Automated and manual checks are not a substitute for that.
• Web font dependency. The site loads a font from a third-party service. If that request is blocked, the site falls back to system fonts; layout may shift slightly but content remains readable.
• Documents. PDF documents we may publish in future are not yet guaranteed to be tagged for accessibility. Ask us and we will supply an accessible alternative.
• Future features. Any third-party component added later — booking widget, chat, embedded video — will be assessed before launch, and this page updated.

5. How this was assessed

Assessment to date consists of manual keyboard testing, review of heading and landmark structure, contrast checks against the palette used, and verification that the site functions with JavaScript disabled and at 200% zoom. We intend to commission an independent audit and update this statement with its findings.
